Dear parishioners and friends,
The recorded service will be available on the Parish YouTube Channel from 7pm this evening. Again this week we reflect on the call and response of the first disciples, as well as the role others played in supporting them in this calling. I hope you enjoy it and find it encouraging, as you reflect on your own faith and the love and support of family and friends who help you find your full potential in life.

We are also in the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity. Normally this weekend we would hold our usual pulpit swaps as part of our ongoing relationship through Douglas Churches Together. Obviously this year, with all our churches closed for worship except for funerals, this cannot happen. We send our greetings to Canon Teddy O’Sullivan and the congregation in St Columba’s Church, Douglas, Fr. Pat O’Mahony and the people of St Patrick’s Church in Rochestown as well as Revd Andrew Robinson, Revd Geraldine Gracie and the Methodist congregation in Cork. We also value our ecumenical links in Blackrock, Passage and Frankfield which feature prominently at other times of the year.
I hope you have a good week. Please take care of yourselves and heed all the public health advice. The situation in all our hospitals and many nursing homes is very concerning. Appeals have been sent out for registered nurses and other health care professionals who have available hours to help in St Luke’s Home and elsewhere. I have further information if anyone requires it. The best way to care for our hard pressed medical professionals and carers is to stay at home as much as possible and avoid any unnecessary contact with others.
Take care and God bless,
Adrian
