The Christmas Lights will be turned on in Douglas Community Park on Sunday 30th November. Timetable as follows; Kite Making 1-2pm, Santa will arrive by fire engine at 2pm, Alvin & the Chipmunks at 3pm, Cork Youth Orchestra at 3.30pm, Nicky Hayes Dancers at 4pm, Cobh Animations Team in Christmas Outfits at 4.15pm and turning on the Christmas Lights at 5pm.

Dr. Michael Murphy, President of University College Cork with the permission of the Rector and Select Vestry invites you to Choral Evensong to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the death of George Boole in St. Michael’s Church, Blackrock on the 8th December at 6pm. Parishioners are asked to contact the Rector if they want to be allocated one of the seats reserved for parishioners. Seating is limited at this service.

Christmas Lunch will take place on Wednesday, 10th December in Blackrock Old School House at 1pm. Booking necessary.

The Raffle Prizes for the Christmas Whist Drive in the Canon Packham Hall on 20th December  are required. All donations will be received by Betty French or they can be left for her to collect in the back church porch in St. Luke’s Church. Your support for this parish fundraiser is appreciated.

Annual Earl Hague Poppy Fund. Having organised the Poppy Fund in Douglas and Frankfield for many years I would like to thank the parishioners for their generosity. It was much appreciated. The collections were Frankfield €633.40, Douglas €185.22 and Blackrock €89.53. Many thanks to John Wolfe and Keith Dawson for their help. Cecil Locke
