Notices
St. Luke’s Douglas parishioner Janet Dillon will shortly be spending a week volunteering at the Refugee Centre in Athens with her friend Deirdre Mackesy. Inspired by traumatic scenes of death and despair on the television, Janet and Deirdre decided that they could not stand idly by any longer, and have decided to embark on a fundraising effort to assist them in their mission. Their major fundraising event is a Garden Party, which will take place on Sunday 1st May in Robin Hill House (Deirdre’s home), Lake Road, Rushbrooke from 2pm to 6.30pm. This will be compered by Claire Cullinane, and feature her Animation Team ladies dressed in Victorian Costume, music, a bouncy castle, a fun dog show, cakes and much more. You are invited to attend this event. Janet would especially request your assistance, and would be very grateful, if you are in a position to bake a cake for this event, or provide a prize for our raffle. She may be contacted at 086 2651690 and she will accept these in St. Luke’s Churchyard at 5pm on Saturday 30th April.
Cobh and Glanmire Parish Annual Garden Fete will take place in St. Mary’s and All Saints Church, Church Hill, Glanmire on Saturday, 7th May at 2.30pm.
