Dear parishioners and friends,
Tomorrow we celebrate the most important day in the church calendar, Easter Sunday. Please find attached the order of service for our Parish Eucharist that will be available on our Youtube Channel from this evening. It is a service full of resurrection joy with some well loved and familiar Easter hymns. I hope you enjoy it! The link to our YouTube Channel is here:
I know people appreciated the opportunity to visit their churches to collect their palm crosses last weekend. So I am also delighted to inform you that the churchwardens have kindly agreed to have all four of our churches open again for private prayer on Easter Day between 10 and 11am. Please note that this is not a service, but if you wish to go into one of our churches for just a few minutes as is permitted under Level 5 restrictions, to pray and give thanks, then feel free to do so.
We ask that you wear a mask, sanitise your hands on entering and leaving and only sit where the churchwardens guide you. You may only sit in pews that have been unused or have been thoroughly cleaned between use. The doors will be open for ventilation and, in the case of St Luke’s, St Michael’s and Holy Trinity, you may be asked to go in the main door and leave by a door at the side of the building. Naturally you are reminded to keep social distance at all times and particularly if you meet others in the churchyard. It is good that ‘the voice of prayer’ will not be silent in our churches this Easter Sunday.
I give you advance notice that our service on Sunday 11 April will be live on Zoom at 11.00am but I will contact you about this and provide a link to it next weekend.
I take this opportunity to wish you a very happy Easter.
Every blessing,
Adrian
